Gingival Grafting
Gingival grafting is a surgical procedure that consists of covering the exposed or bare roots.
The stated objectives of gum grafts are multiple, here are the main ones:
- Eliminating root sensitivity
- Reducing the risk of root decay
- Restoring normal anatomy to facilitate hygiene techniques
- Improving aesthetic appearance
- Creating a more resistant gingiva and avoiding possible loosening of teeth and implants

Gingivectomy
Gingivectomy is a surgical procedure that treats periodontal disease or improves smile aesthetics by removing excess gum tissue. It consists of removing a part of the gums surrounding one or more teeth, allowing patients to have a more harmonious smile and better oral hygiene.

Bone Grafting
Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that can be used to correct deficiencies in the jawbone or to increase the amount of bone in the jawbone.
When only part of the tooth is affected, the conservative method of eliminating pockets is to fill the bone defect. A bone graft is then indicated for structural support.
Extraction and Crest Preservation
If one or more teeth need to be extracted, surgery is performed to preserve the underlying bone mass as much as possible to facilitate the placement of a dental implant.
Bone Graft for Implants
The first step in replacing missing teeth with dental implants is to determine if a bone graft is needed.
When the bone volume is insufficient in height or thickness, or when the bone density is too low to support an implant, the preliminary stage of bone grafting is essential.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is an artificial root made of titanium, having the function of replacing the root of a missing tooth and serving as a support for a future crown or dental prosthesis.
Implant treatment is the preferred solution to replace a missing tooth, allowing the lost function and aesthetics to be recovered.
Sinus Lift
Bone scarcity in the posterior regions of the maxilla is a problem if implants are to be placed. This bone shortage is due to the presence of the maxillary sinuses. A sinus lift is a procedure that aims to restore adequate bone volume in the upper jaw by lifting the maxillary sinus tissue. This creates a bone anchor that will be used to insert one or more implants.
Laser Surgery
Laser treatment is a minimally invasive surgical technique that can change the bacterial flora, clean the surfaces of the roots and implants and achieve impressive periodontal or peri-implant healing.
In clinical practice, PerioLase® (Nd:YAG) lasers better known as LANAP® and Morita AdvErL (Er:YAG) are used depending on the situation of each patient.
Bone regeneration via laser has been scientifically proven by Dr. Raymond Yukna and Dr. Marc L. Nevins. In 2016, PerioLase® received the first worldwide authorization from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for an authentic regeneration of the architecture of the periodontium with the presence of the periodontal ligament and the cementum (histological evidence).
