Complete Examination
- A comprehensive assessment of the oral cavity
- A radiological evaluation (16 to 20 x-rays)
- A periodontal charting
- Development of a treatment plan
Specific Examination
The specific examination is intended for patients requiring the assessment of a very specific area of the dentition.
This examination includes:
- Assessment of a very specific region
- X-rays taken as needed
- A determination, if required, of corrective actions to be taken
Phases of an Examination
The diagnosis is the starting point for carrying out the adequate treatments.
Obtaining optimal results from the initial phase is a crucial part of the treatment, which is why it’s important to work closely with the patient.
Occasionally, depending on the severity of the situation, the initial phase will be combined with laser therapy.
The initial phase (debridement) focuses on:
- Scaling
- Planing
The objective of this phase is to proceed with the debridement of the teeth and roots, namely the elimination of plaque and tartar.
