Our Periodontists

Dr. Sandrine Barakat

Dr. Barakat obtained her Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University of Montreal in 2009.

She pursued her post-doctoral studies until 2012 to complete her specialty in periodontics as well as a Master of Science at the University of Pennsylvania with honours (Director’s Award Postdoctoral Periodontics from the University of Pennsylvania). She practiced in a private clinic in Philadelphia until 2015 while teaching at the department of periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Barakat currently practices Periodontics with an implantology service in private practice in Laval. Dr. Sandrine Barakat is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She is a member of several associations, including the American Academy of Periodontology and serves as the treasurer for the Association des Parodontistes du Québec.

Dr. Yoonkyung Oh

Dr. Oh obtained her Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University of Montreal in 2009.

She then pursued her multidisciplinary residency at the University of Rochester in 2010 and continued her post-doctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Oh completed her speciality in periodontics in 2013 as well as a Masters of Science from the University of Pennsylvania, where she later was a teacher in the Department of Periodontics. Dr. Yoonkyung Oh practiced in a private clinic in New York until 2018. She currently practices periodontics with an implantology service in private practice in Laval.

Dr. Oh is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She is a member of several associations, including the American Academy of Periodontology and the Association des Parodontistes du Québec.

Dr. Pierre-Yves Thibodeau

Thibodeau obtained his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University of Montreal in 1981.

He then practiced general dentistry in the Magdalen Islands until 1989. In 1991, he completed his specialization in periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania with honours (Director’s Award). Since then, he has been practicing periodontics with an implantology service in a private practice in Laval. Dr. Thibodeau is a member of the Association des Parodontistes du Québec. Thanks to the people of Laval and the surrounding areas, Dr. Thibodeau has been practicing his profession for more than 30 years.
